I only saw this Series IIa in passing, but it's amazing how much "imagery" was brought to mind. It is a Sporting icon. The owner has either spent all their dough on keeping it on the road, or had the wherewithal to leave it alone and let time and wear add to the aesthetics.

I have a 1963 Series IIa, since 1995, also had a 1988 Range Rover, for a lot fewer years. I spent way less keeping the Series running. Just the basic systems; go, stop, turn, lights.
Body panels are aluminum alloy so won't rust like a Land Cruiser.

RE Operation Hot Body: Have you been hydro-statically weighed?
It will give an accurate percentage of body fat.
Call the gyms w/ a pool. See if they do it. YMCA's w/ fitness programs are also a good source.
It is difficult to lose fat and gain muscle at same time. The best most can hope for is to keep the muscle while losing fat. Once at the desired lean-ness percentage bodyfat wise ... then put on a few lb of muscle.
Modern supplements may have rendered the old info outdated, though.
My biggest concern is fitness...lean muscle mass will be a bonus, hopefully. Right now I couldn't out run an opossum.
I recently got a great deal on a new to me 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee adn couldnt be happier. As far as fitness goes. I have alos lost my edge though not by a little.. The closest I have come to my old Basic Training PT has been Crossfit my friend! I'll leave the googleing to you!
Are you in LA?
I jsut saw this on Montana
